Oh yeah I forgot about those old ones. Somewhere along the line they went to shit and I have no idea to tell when that happened so I just won't buy one.

Yeah I dunno man... outsourcing? Chose the wrong chinese manufacturer? Who knows. Personally, I think the same can be said for Kicker. Hasn't been the same since the Solo Barrick.

I'd just get another compressor.

This. Cost of a clutch isn't that much less than the cost of a new compressor.

Time for a new compressor, no sense spending all that money for a new clutch only to have the compressor go out in awhile.
