What are ya’lls plans with engine/chassis when it’s quitting time?

HELL YEAH!!! Now THAT'S a sleeper. Wish mine was that fast. Love it!!
Does it have a turbo on the 6.0? Cammed I'd assume.
Yeah. Heads/cam setup and running a 4L80e. Truck only has 40K miles on it according to the owner

It would be nice turning my rig into a 12 second sleeper once it's no longer a daily

If I'm lucky enough to find a decent GMT921 Tahoe / 931 Suburban specimen,
the 6.0L will keep its rectangle heads but I'll bump up the scr somehow,
the 6L80E will get backed by 3.73 gears, and it'll need stiffer springs & shocks,
but the gist is the same.

Note however that if I wind up with an GMT926 / 936 Escalade, eventually, the 6.2L will be replaced by a 6.0L.
Please enlighten me lol

What’s the benefit of the 6.0 over the 6.2? It seems like everyone loves them. I’m sure a google search would answer my question. But figured it would be a good time to get an answer from a man who doesn’t like anything half@$$ ;)

Most used 6.0L are FAR cheaper than most used 6.2L.
Most used 6.0L are also less abused / less mistreated / less under-maintained, compared to most used 6.2L.
Just because you COULD operate a 6.2L on 87 octane, doesn't mean you SHOULD ...
Most cheap@$$ idiotards 'forget' to drive the 6.2L on 87 octane GENTLY, instead they drive them hard, pointlessly, wearing them out if not breaking them for fun.
By the way, how much power & torque is a 6.2L rated @, on 87 octane?
(How much WOULD a 6.2L be rated, if the spark tables were intently written for 87 / 89 octane?)

Compare the LY6 / L96 / LC8 6.0L V8s with 9.6:1 scr on 87 octane, vs a 6.2L with 10.5:1 scr on 91 octane (L99 with 10.4:1 scr on 91 octane, same power & torque)
LY6 / L96 / LC8 ≈ 360 horses & 380 torques ... 6.2L ≈ 400 horses & 410 torques

So far as bang for the buck goes, I think LY6 / L96 / LC8 compete respectably vs L92 / L9H / L94 / L99.

For the 900 I've got no real plans but to keep her going for at least 9 more years and then I got my money's worth. Theoretically be pushing 275K at that point.
After 250, if she goes, she goes...

But the '97 is a sentimental rig for me. It looks way better with ridiculous mods IMO. And I'm just getting stupid with the assistance of AI.
350 w hot cam and appropriate upgrades
Rejuvenated 4l60e
(Yeah yeah LS swap and 4l80...but I have the 350 and 4l60. I still want it to be a gmt400)
SAS and 4.10s all around
Muffler Delete

AI has a real hard time with the rear mounted tire carrier though.

Er, um, GMT400s came with 4L80Es. Also, during the GMT400, some 350s were even paired with 4L80Es.

Yes, I know, perhaps I should've said I still want it to be the "same" truck. I "feel" that when you swap an engine, the heart of the vehicle goes with it.

For myself, it's as simple as the fact that the 6.0 (in my case the LY6) is an iron block, and more of a HD motor. I've alway thought of the 6.2 (and I have the best one, L9H, in my Denali) as the aluminum-blocked hotrod motor.

For absolute durability, I'll take the 6.0.

Although I appreciate your point, can't see nothing wrong with an L31 transplant backed up by a 4L80. I don't like the 4L80E, but I full well respect it,
especially since there are quite a few GMT431 L31&4L80s still operating in NYC (mostly Long Island) on their 2nd or 3rd 4L80 rebuild, despite the rust.

You are absolutely right about the early (L9x) 6.2L motors. They were basically Corvette motors with modified tunes for these trucks. And, it is REALLY HARD NOT to PUSH these motors, as it is so much FUN to do so.

Turns out the LT1 vs the L86 / L87, share even more similarities than the LS3 vs the L9x.
Except for the tune & the intake manifold, the differences are not functionally meaningful.

Fun Facts:
L94, L99, & Wet Sump LS3 all share the same camshaft part number
L94 & L99 share the same heads AND +3cc piston volume, yet
L94: 10.5:1 scr ... L99: 10.4:1 scr

Gonna keep the 5.3

Forged rotating assembly
Frankenstein or Texas Speed heads and BTR cam
LT4 fuel pump, rails and injectors
Nick Williams 103mm Throttle body
FiTech dual 450gph pumps in the tank
a 12lb pully for the Whipple
Sonnax guts in the 6L80

Dream\Wish List
Fi Interchiller
Compound boost with rear mounted turbo

Working on fabbing my own aero for the truck now but would be super freaky if I could find a wide body kit for it

200K on the clock now.

Really contemplating pulling the body off the frame and adding a Duramax/Alison.

2010 2500 Suburban: that’s what I hope I can do, or at least have done (and have someone coat the frame with something more rust practice while it’s opened up).

The 2009 Tahoe 6.2L will get repaired too, but upgrades probably limited to transmission improvements.

being a odd balls aluminum 6.0 hybrid. I'm just curious to see how long it will last. 174lk currently and it could use some maintenance on the mechanical side of stuff but the electric side seems to be rolling along. currently a test bed for sodium replacement cells which are doing surprisingly well so far. made it thru the hot tx summer without any noticeable decline in capacity.

when it finally does give up, I'll keep the 6.0 and swap it into something. shouldn't be to hard to make it a ls2. I like that idea of a mid sized truck like a Colorado. put a manual behind it and have a little run around/handy truck bed.

Is it an LFA or an LZ1? Either way, it already has LS2 heads,
only the pistons (and maybe the head gaskets?) pull the scr down from 10.9:1 to 10.7:1.
Obviously delete Engine Half@$$, decide what octane you want to use and let that help you choose your cam.

Bolt it to a Porsche transaxle, and cut/weld it into the back of one of these.

off top of my head, I don't remember which engine code. it's the 2011 and newer one.

but yeah, it would go into something I'd run 93 in, not a daily probably. so the little extra compression shouldn't hurt. Just slide a nice cam in it and drop it in a interesting project. small pickup truck, a 3rd Gen/fox body. or go completely different. I believe they sell a swap kit for a rx8. make that thing out handle my c6 lol. gotta be something interesting to swap it into. could even find a cheapish 08 5.3. tahoe to replace the yukon with and drop it in that. I kinda like the cop car ones too.
