The little drain holes will plug with dirt. I've taken a Q-tip to the ones on our truck. It's amazing how quickly the water will drain out then. Unfortunately, they will plug again. Usually, the rubber flap on the bottom of the door will sometimes close off the drain holes when the door is closed, letting the dirt cake up against it, preventing the water from draining when you open the door.
