I was looking at Steve Meades site and some of his builds. I notice that he says that he's the loadest non-walled daily driven car. What is a "non-walled" car. His tahoe is ****** sick. Rims are little to big for me, but other than that, sick!

non-walled is without a wall of speakers from floor to roof.

Would a walled car have to go from floor all the way to roof, so its sealed?

basically you're in a different class if your box goes above the window line so you might as well go big or go home...lol

So do you use the cabin as the box and seal it off that way?

you use the rear portion of the vehicle for the enclosure. It will make the cabin space smaller, hence less cabin, more chance for pressure. It's kinda like the AC on a car, smaller car, faster to cool down.
I know Steve, great guy, his is a bunch of subs under or at the window line. harder to get a bigger number out of, because he's not walled and has a large cabin.
In many different orgs, you will see steet cars that look like street cars, two subs and one or two amps in rear. And depending on org, where they place the mic. At the headrest, in the kick, or legal on the dash.
But the Extreme vans, etc, are walledm with some in major classes plexiglass windows, and doors that actually bolt shut.

And some are even lined with concrete between body panels. This is when you know it's a hardcore SPL only vehicle:)
