Yes everyone should look at their insurance closely. Because all they want to give me is 5900 and that wont buy anything . so forewarned if anyone else has an older Tahoe or whatever please make sure you get insurance for what it is worth. and My insurance does not care that they are at an all time high for sales. So ends the story of my beloved Tahoe.
Figures. The insurance company always comes out ahead. Gonna buy it back from them?

I dont know what I have to give them I need to find out. My neighbor down the street restores cars he has done some nice work with the cars he has gotten. I am going to talk to him it depends on the frame too i guess . Its probably the only way I would get a decent vehicle, Anyone ever had any experience on a buy back

I bought back my totalled 89 Formula years ago. I lived in Pa at the time. I think your buy back is based on the salvage value--but don't quote me on that. Once I bought it back, the title was branded, so it no longer had a clean title. I drove it for a little while until the rear started to whine really bad, then I parted it out.

Did you get a copy of their basis for this value (comps used, etc.) to negotiate it? Compare prices with comparable vehicles for sale.

They typically sell it back to you for salvage value. No clue what that would be, but some calls to salvage yards may give you a ballpark.

If the cost to fix is affordable, perhaps cancel the claim and avoid a branded title? Lose-lose, I guess.

I got them to up the amount they will pay me by pointing out items they missed. However, does anyone know where I can do what I used to call a VIN roll, where I can get the complete sheet of the build out for this particular vehicle - how many of each etc. I was able to do that with my 2000 camaro but I cannot remember how or where I found it.
Thanks

Compnine might have something like that, but I don’t think it was a Marti report like they have for Fords where they break down production quantities.

Like a window sticker? I know I have gotten a window sticker for a 2014 Challenger and a 2014 GMC Sierra online, but I am not sure if they go that far back. And I am not sure if there is a build sheet anywhere in these. You could contact GM customer service to see if they can help you out.

I got them up to 7300 which is better than the 5800 they started at. Still won't buy me another vehicle. I am not going to buy it back though, frankly I just don't have the energy etc to do this. I love the two door Tahoes, and maybe again someday but my focus is to get a vehicle that can pull a horse trailer well. I was using the Tahoe and it did okay but the wheel base is so short, and I Have a two horse with a dressing room. I do more than haul occasionally because I show. Thank you everyone for all your input, this Tahoe was probably the best vehicle I ever owned.
I bought it 10 years ago for $3200, put close to 100k miles on it (yes I put a bit of repairs into it ) and got 7300 for it in the end. It could have been better (no wreck) and it could have been worse(could have been injured, and thank goodness I had full coverage on it ) it was actually priced out at 8300 but I had $1000 deductible on it. Again Thank you all!
