Has anyone ever used a vacuum pump to do an oil change on their Tahoe? On my old boat, it was the only way to do it. I am just curios as to how effective it is.

For those that do not know what it is, it is a pump with a long, thin hose that you feed into the oil dipstick tube all the way to the bottom. Pump creates a vacuum and pulls the oil out.

I do not have an issue crawling under and pulling the plug, just wanted some input on it.

Thanks!

I don't see how it could be less effective than draining it through the pan as long as you can get the vacuum hose in the lowest part of the sump every time. You still have to get under it to replace the filter, so you may as well just drain it the traditional way as well.
