I was given a 98 yukon. Ive got it running but I've had issues with the dome lights always on. Ive swapped all door push pins, hatch glass push pin, and new headlight switch assembly. Only way to get dome lights off is by pulling the fuse. Which I have done.

Took today to get inspected for first time since 2017. Passed with no issues. On way home I noticed the turn signals would blink once or twice then freeze on when i used them. Light went off when I turned signal off. If I tried the other side it would immediately freeze. I'd wait 5 minutes and try again and that pattern would repeat.

Got home. With truck running, turn signal now goes straight to freezing on when I activate stalk.

I notice that with truck OFF but in ON key position, signals work flawlessly. As soon as I start truck, issues reappear. AND NOW the dome lights won't come on at all.

Any ideas?

Flasher is plugged into the convenience center by the parking brake. Here is how it works, (note the third paragraph) but you could double-check by checking the voltage on the yellow wire (left) and dark green (right) at the taillight connector so see if voltage is constant with the turn signal activated- it shouldn’t be.

The tailights have a circuit board that causes bad connection problems. I'd pull the taillights and pull the boards and remove the bulbs and clean and lube the contacts.

I’ve tried to chase my phantom dome light forever. I have been able to always just push the override button by the headlight selector switch. I tried running aluminum tape over the plunger switches, replaced them with OEM. It’s still a gremlin in there.

Have you tested the combination switch?

Well, i finally figured it out. The trailer wire harness was damaged and the bare wires were touching. No issues since then. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
