Hello I have a 07 tahoe with currently a 4.8 I want to. Change to a 5.3 or 6.0 will I have to change the trans also ?

No but you have to tune the computer for the bigger engine.

If there's alot of miles, I'd beef it up, or it'll eventually blow it--if you have a heavy foot.

How many miles? The 4l60 trans from the factory isn’t a horrible trans but they’ve been known to go out well under 100k even with proper care. Of course others have gone much further but i don’t personally know any of em.

I messed with 2 4l60s that went out before 100k. The first was rebuilt to stock specs and lasted another 200k! I assume there were updated parts to get that much longevity but never saw the invoice.
