Hi again to all. Ive been seeing how some ppl are deleting the trans thermostat on their 6L80"s. Any ideas why? What benefits come from this? Seems easy enough to do, just wondering why.

How does deleting the trans thermostat cause it to run cooler? I don't doubt that it could, I just don't understand how that works.

So, in a way, the thermostat operates a door or whatever you want to call it, till the right temp and then lets flow to the cooler. Interesting. I always understood trans fluid is best when as cool as can be, to a point. I understand that it can be too cool, like not the best operation right after a start up, especially in cold/very cold weather.

Thanks for the info.

My concern with these is that the thermostat fails closed.
