So went ahead and did the transmission flush today (along with the differentials & transfer case). On this 6 speed, I was able to finagle the pan off without prying the exhaust, which was fortunate because the exhaust has zero give. I removed the filter, rotated the pan slightly clockwise and it slid out nice & easy. Went back on just the same. Guess I got lucky.
