Towing with 2015 Tahoe PPV

Hey, Tahoe people! The official information says 4000 lbs for towing. What reduced the weight for towing so much? Or is this not accurate information? Who has any thoughts on this?

At least you have a tow rating. My PPV explicitly states DO NOT TOW WITH THIS VEHICLE in the police supplemental manual.

My assumption is the transmission programming is such that it is subject to heating. I manually shift when towing.
