I had one around up to about 5 years ago. I still had some cans of Pennzoil too.

Yep, worked good with all metal cans. Had to be a bit careful with the later cardboard sided cans.

For me, making sure the dipstick is never low and being wise about interval changes is more important than running a high dollar brand.

Oh yeah.
When I was a teen I worked at full service gas stations pumping gas, cleaning windshields, checking tire pressures, checking under the hood and thus adding oil and used those spouts to ********* the metal 1 qt oil cans.

When I have to change my oil myself for whatever reasons for time constraints walmart always has the major brand cheap as hell. They even carry Honda and acdelco branded filters.
