Wheel was delivered today! Probably install it this evening or tomorrow.

I don't have a steering wheel puller specifically but I do have a threaded universal type pulley/wheel puller. Anyone know if this will work? 97306ada94c1c081473374120c19134b.jpg97aab700453c8fd0323f5415bfc1dc13.jpg

I used to pill the wheel on my Firebird with the same kit. I think it should work.

EDIT--,My bird didn't have an airbag.

I haven't done mine yet, but after you have disconnected the battery and take off the airbag, the service manual says
Procedure
1. Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
2. Loosen the steering wheel nut until two to three threads are left
engaged.
3. Wiggle the steering wheel until the steering wheel disengages
completely.
4. Remove the steering wheel nut.
5. Remove the steering wheel.

when putting it back on the torque spec is 30lbs

***it also states not to bang on the center column with a hammer as it can loosen the sleeves that keep the column rigid.

Steering wheel puller ^^^^

Used palms to alternate banging on left/right side of the wheel from behind to loosen. I borrowed the wrong puller from AutoZone and found a video on YouTube. :)

around the 2 minute mark

That will work.
Also, you can put the nut on a few threads and give it a rap or 2 with a rubber mallet, it will be fine.
It will come off with that puller though.

Thanks guys, got it on. I was going to use the puller at first, but I didn't have any oval headed bolts to use and I didn't feel like grinding some down on the bench grinder. So I did like Doubeleive posted, leaving the nut on loose, and pulling side to side. Torqued new one down to 30ft lbsea534585de323cb28c2f623f3ee79848.jpg

I've read that we really don't need a puller like the old days with these. Yep, just read the instructions Wes put up, that's what I remember.
