Hello,

I've been chasing an issue with my cruise control only working intermittently. Now I've noticed that the "seek" buttons on my steering wheel have started acting up. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Now I'm thinking that both issues have something to do with the steering wheel controls. Has anyone dealt with this? Can you offer some insight?

Thanks in advance!

Cruise control not working is often a problem with the brake switch on the brake pedal. Next time it doesn't work try putting your toes under the brake pedal and pulling the pedal towards you and see if the cruise control starts working.

Could just be a coincidence that the seek buttons are acting up.

That was the first thing I tried. I appreciate the input.

those buttons are on the opposing side from each other. but you could just order new controls to rule it out there not expensive nor hard to replace, you could do the steering wheel plate also if yours is worn, dorman makes a nice replacement in grey/silver. I kinda wanted to hydro dip mine but never did

Have you noticed that the issue occurs at a certain clocking of the steering wheel?

A good bidirectional scanner should be able to show the status of the radio switches, as well as verify no codes present. It could also be a clockspring issue (connections or compromised internal wires) but you'd probably want to do some diagnostics before going that far.

I have not, but I'll be paying attention now. I think it might be the clock spring.

I have a good bi-directional scanner (Mucar BT200 Max). However, I have yet to take the time to understand it very well. I need to practice/research how to use it better than I can currently.
