Sounds to me like torque converter too.. The clutch in it sucks. The trans itself is great.
But if you wait too long, you'll be rebuilding the entire trans...
Be proactive and replace with a better upgraded converter like geotrash and others suggest

So….update to the shudder….used some Lucas transfix…..that didn’t help…..used some Lubegaurd Shudder fix, that has it working good and shudder gone for now. so here is the big question, what to do now. I have a mixture of trans fluid, lucas, and lube guard, so do I drain and start over or go ahead and replace the torque converter and then start over with fluid.

If it were me in your shoes. I would take it to a highly regarded transmission specialist in your area and explain in detail your whole experience up till now. I then would do what they recommended.

+1. The shudder fix will only mask the problem. If the underlying issue is indeed the torque converter lock-up clutch, it’s still a ticking time bomb.

Can you go into a bit more detail on the shudder. I’ve been dealing with the shudder at all speeds, yes it is NOT the wheels n tires. I have been told it’s the ^%#}€. AFM kicking in and out. I recently dropped my trans pan, to change the fluid and filter. The fluid was pretty dark with black sludge in the bottom of the pan. I’m told that I “smoked” a clutch or more. I ass um ing that I’m in need of a rebuild trans.

Weird thing is the trans doesn’t get hot, 160-190 range on mixed highway and state route roads. So not 100% Convinced my trans is shot.

I have the exact same issue with mine. 60 mph towing mostly. Did you do the repair and did it resolve the issue?
