    if the message still comes on with that sensor unplugged then it could maybe maybe maybe.... be the brake pedal sensor but I don't think it causes a message it just either works or doesn't in which case you would have no cruise control function and brake lights wouldn't work or would be intermittent. Any kind of brake issue and cruise will not work regardless if the brake lights work or not.
