I have a 2007 Yukon Denali XL with factory reverse camera. The camera setting are set to display camera image in reverse, basically the camera is turned on.

When I put the vehicle into reverse, it goes into the camera display mode and has the warning: check all surroundings on top of screen. The camera does not display anything, the rest of the screen is all black.

What can i do to diagnose and repair this problem, is it common? More importantly is this covered by warranty?

Mine did this and it was because the camera plugs in the back of the nav screen were unplugged. Check to make sure all plugs are snapped into the nav. You'll have to remove the trim around the radio and the bolts that hold the radio in place.

Wow never thought of that! I will first contact my dealer. I am going to try to get the gmx-322 lockpick first since i don't wanna rip open the navi again and again. I wanted to get the lockpick anyway. Thank You for your input.

Wow im' surprised the connector was loose behind the nav unit! It just seems so uncommon. Did you have the nav removed for any reason, or by a steareo shop?Do you think it was not plugged in right from the factory?

Oh yeah checked @the dealer, and it's not covered under warranty anymore i am past the bumper-bumper warranty which covers this.

Well, checking the radio connections is a very easy thing to do. But I had mine removed to install a media device, and for some reason I forgot to snap those 2 back in. Really simple fix.

For anyone else who reads this and that doesn't work... if you have a bad battery your camera may not come on. Test your battery it may need replaced
