Ok, so I have an interior door handle or two on both my 2009 Tahoe and 2010 Suburban 2500 where the cheap chrome is starting to peel.

I did a temporary cover with some 3M aluminum foil tape for ducts I had at the house that honestly would be fine if it weren't for all the red 3M printing around it, but I decided I wanted to return to a cleaner look.

So I checked out Rock Auto and saw they have Repair Kits (Left- & Right-sided specific) listed under the Suburban:
- Dorman (DORMAN 80374 = left or 80375 = right),
- SKP (SKP SK80374 = left or SK80375 = Right), and
- Shee-Mar (SHEE-MAR SM362 = left or SHEE-MAR SM377 = right)
They are black and give no size indication, so I picked up the cheap ones (SKP) to give it a shot as I thought black (non-chromed) handles would be a great upgrade ... but there is absolutely no way these are for GMT900 SUVs ... way too wide, way to long, & stick out way to far to even pretend to fit.

Rock Auto lists all three as being applicable to the GMT900 SUV in the product list: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...l+v8,1445317,interior,inside+door+handle,1288
Unfortunately the specific item description appears to be intentionally super vague, which of course means the computer managing the return submission is treating the error as being user fault and is only offering a refund at my shipping expense (which is more than the refund would be).

Don't purchase any of the above kits for GMT900 SUVs!

It is possible the SKP SK914153 on Rock Auto would work as a repair / replacement handle, but the lack of real applications in the description as it relates to their return requirements have me concerned.

Anyone else had to do returns with Rock Auto?

As for what I'm going to do, I think I'll purchase unmarked aluminum foil tape and just live with that.

I got the dealer to pay for half as a customer service gesture on our 08 Denali. My daughter was with me and had just been playing with the first aid kit in the truck. She had band aids all over her hand.

Service advisor apologized and said he could only do half off. He mistook my stoked look for something else and looked at my daughter and said I’m sorry you got cut.

I think that's a GM part number.

But the system won’t take them back because it thinks it’s an acceptable part number (and I haven’t had time to call and ***** yet).

RockAuto is great until its not. I had a very unpleasant experience with them when I had to return a radiator that was manufactured poorly. I had the right item, right part number, etc, but the rep in customer service was a complete a-hole and would not replace the unit. So since then, I still purchase from them, but I double check all the info to make sure there are no errors on my part, and I always order with a credit card that will allow me to dispute the charge if something goes sideways.
