Removing Tahoe grill inserts

I have the z71 and it has the silver grill inserts. I want to remove them and PD them but I'm not really clear as to how to get them out to do this. I'd rather not mask the front end off and do them in place. Is there an easy way to get them out? Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you ever figure this out? I see that silver section in the pic on your sig^^ I have the same and want to PD it black as well. Does it come off?

they have small clips all around the outside edge, you have to use a small flathead and pop them off one at a time, be careful they can break easily if one or two break it's no big deal it will still go back on fine, this guy use's his fingers but I have just used a short flat head screwdriver in the past
