So I have a Blazer with the flip up rear glass and wiper. This happened a few weeks ago and I’m wondering what I’ll need to fix it. I know there used to be a black cap on this that’s long gone and I’m assuming this was a bolt that broke off? Do I just need a new bolt?

On mine (98) that plug is in there pretty good. From the parts diagram, it almost looks like you’re just missing a nut (#25 in the diagram). Pull the motor cover off and see if there’s a bolt (#21) going there that you can match the size with. A junkyard would probably have the cap. Try car-part.com for a search engine of local yards. Any Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban should match as well.

Image was from this site below, but part numbers (or bolt/nut sizes) were not included.

Thanks for the reply. I dug into it further, the mounting bolt is still there, but it is rusted into the rubber isolator on the wiper motor mount. The nut is definitely long gone. I made a trip to pic-a-part last night and I only found one gmt400 series that still had a lift glass on it, and the nut was junk. Looks like the nut is steel with a plastic cover. The steel rusts under the cover until it disintegrates and falls off. I appreciate the part diagram though, at least when I go to the dealer today I can tell them exactly which part I need.

I just got back from the dealer, the part is called a wiper mount, part number 22110897. Unfortunately, the part is discontinued, and they say they can’t get any. Anyone know how to track down old stock parts?

Dealers can usually search other dealer inventories, so sometimes you get lucky and find someone with a part still on the shelf.

Otherwise, it’s going to be eBay or salvage yard. Car-part.com is a good search engine, you may be able to find a yard that will ship a part for you.
