Yes. The shock mounts on this platform are indeed build for supporting the weight of the vehicle. Regular old shock mounts on older vehicles…definitely not.

Hell, even putting heavy duty shocks on mounts like that can end up ripping them off. I frequent ram forums, and guys putting 3” bypass shocks on heavy duty trucks that use them hard off road end up strengthening the factory mounts because of this.

The problem with the factory air shocks is if they fail, you are on the stops.

2 yrs. ago I did that with my '05 Navigator for about 20 miles. Right front sprung a leak. Pretty wild ride!
