Any thoughts or ideas on this particular item? Anyone using anything like this?

Yes, I have the Fumoto drain valve on 3 of my vehicles.
The oil drains a little slower, but there is very little mess.
No guessing where to place your oil pan to drain in.
You can drain the oil and change oil the filter at the same time.

Just follow the directions, only wrench on the actual fitting that goes into the oil pan.

I just ordered a Femco; looks like a better solution to me but it's a bit more expensive and requires it's own adapter that snaps on with an attached hose. I'll try to post up results when I install it.

I've seen a fe where the check valve looses tension and starts leaking. Not to the point where it drains all your oil but enough to to make mess where you park.

Fumoto has a little black plastic clip, when in place you can't open the valve until you remove that clip. For about $1.00 ea. when I bought mine.

Came in a couple days ago. I'm a out to make a lot going road trip so I guess I'll change the oil prior and put thus puppy on then.
