Anyone have info on replacing key start switch with Push Button start?

When my ignition switch failed in the start mode in my '97 Yukon (RIP), I had a momentary pushbutton switch installed under the dashboard, that I used to start the truck. I did not perform the work myself, but I did note that it was essentially 1 contact of the switch had a wire going out to the fuse box, and the other contact on the switch was connected to ground.

It’s not a full push button but it can be done, unfortunately getting by the Passlock system is a pain in the dick that’s why I say not a full push button because you still need to insert and turn the key to the on position once you do that if
You add a push button inline on the “S” terminal wire down to the starter boom push button. I did it to my 01 I hid the button in the center console key lock hole on the side of the lid
