I changed my rear diff oil today. It only took 3 bags of amsoil, when 5.5 pints of oil is recommended. I was afraid I did something wrong until I realized I ordered quarts and not pints. So now I have a lot of extra oil. And it was not cheap. FYI, 1 quart = 2 pints.

Can’t we just accept the metric system and move on? :cool:

Kind of funny how we tossed out the king but kept his measurements.

Just think of it as having oil already for future changes, lol.

I pretty much did the same mistake when changing the transfer case fluid. Was pumping it in thinking I had a lot to go then all of a sudden it started pouring out the fill hole. At least it was ATF and not stinky gear oil

Not a fan of empirical metrics, like you said we tossed out the king for a reason. However I will admit, mm sockets are a lot easier to guess than fractions. For volume, I’ll take oz over ml any day.
