Pretty decent highway mileage I must admit

Just took my new 2020 Tahoe (5.3) on a first decent trip from DFW to San Antonio and back and was surprised at the fuel economy. Headed back north I took the Pickle Parkway which is maybe 125 miles of toll road where the speed limit is 85 mph and for the entire return run I averaged 25 mpg. That is pretty damn good considering no tailwind and I never really drove below 75 mph the whole 300 miles. That is better mileage than I remember my new VW Bug back in 1973! In the wish department I sure wish I could have found one with the 40/20/40 seats rather than the giant console but other than that quite pleased.

THIS is interesting, considering the posted economy is 15/21. Also impressive considering that the sweet spot for fuel economy is around 60 mph without AFM.

I wonder how will 2021 do with DFM instead of AFM?

These motors seem to get more efficient the faster we drive them to a point.

True, my dic says higher mpg when im going 80+, but I did lose some mpgs after chopping front lip + adding fogs & esky mirrors. Stock mpg is much better than I expected...

My 4x4 Suburban saw a best of 26mpg going to phoenix AZ from Los Angeles. 85mph cruise control. I was a bit shocked. Coming back was 23mpg. I’m BB tuned and i think that made a huge difference.

my 2016 Tahoe 4x4 easily gets 26+ cruising around 70 mph on relatively flat highways in NJ. My last trip to CT I avg 28.2. On 93 octane

Truly impressive mileage, for sure.

I 'might' get 18 mpg on the highway, if my wife is in the truck with me.

Otherwise, I'm 10-11 mpg in the city, and 15-16 on the highway. I should note, however, that I'm never trying to get good mileage, so I am part of the problem for sure. :)
