    Hi all,

2015 Tahoe LT. Had a check engine light. Have had evap codes before so I disconnected the battery for 20 minutes. Battery is less than a year old, btw.

Started back up fine and CEL went out. But here’s what’s weird - I got a message saying “action required - open and close driver’s window” (or something like that).

Problem is that the driver’s window won’t budge. All other windows work fine. Haven’t had a single issue with the driver’s window until just now.

I disconnected the battery again, but only for a minute or so. The DIC message didn’t come back, but the window still won’t move.

    Any idea? Blown fuse maybe?

    Thanks

you need to re calibrate the drivers window, I believe the procedure is to press and hold the button up for 4 seconds, then put the window down and continue holding the button down for 4 seconds, or vica-versa, presuming the window will even go up or down.

That’s the problem - all of a sudden the window won’t move at all

    a coupe suggestions then
    1. disconnect the battery, while the battery is disconnected then press the brake pedal a few times, flip the headlight switch a couple times and turn the key to start a couples times. then re-connect the battery and see if the window starts working.
    2. if no luck with #1 take it to a shop or a dealer and ask them to test the window with there scanner/gds2 tool.
    3. if you don't want to do #2 then you can take the door panel off and run 12v directly to the window motor and test the motor, if the motor is good and functional then you may have a short between the switch and the motor, then you can proceed as necessary from there but the end result may be having to take it to the dealer to get the switch reprogrammed if it has to be replaced depending on what options your vehicle has.

btw a fuse problem is doubtful because both the front windows have there own system and both rear windows have there own system, so if it was a fuse/relay the passenger window would be out as well

Thanks for the insight. Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of depressing the brake pedal, turning the headlamp switch on and off, and turning the key - all with the battery disconnected?

The purpose is to kill any static power that may remain in the bcm, these trucks are very finicky about electricity.

Wait until he suggests you hit your fuse block like Fonzy and a jukebox! (With your hand, not a hammer)
