Power Steering issue

I have an intermittent loss of power steering could it be the 42+Volt power supply? i found a used replacement from a 2013 model for 108$

it only happens once per drive cycle for 1-3 seconds the 12v+ battery is only a couple of months old

Is it throwing any codes? Does the loss of power steering correlate to a certain wheel position or any other factors that you can think of?
Not sure what mielage you are at or if you have done any front end work yet but these GM truck front ends can develop hard spots in the steering when bad that can feel like loss of power steering? Usually you will get some some unusual tire wear patterns if that is happening though.
