Lean codes have nothing to do with the recall.
Most common problems with Lean codes are vacuum leaks, but could be a problematic injector or even a Fuel Pump Control Module acting up.
The key is to get the Freeze Frame data and see under what conditions the code was triggered. Usually Lean codes at idle are vacuum leak related, but lean codes at cruise are typically fuel related like an injector problem.
Post up the Freeze Frame data, RPM and Vehicle Speed at primary clues, but engine Load and other parameters can also be helpful. Pay attention to both bank Fuel Trims as well, your other bank may be on the verge of triggering a Lean code or the other bank may have typical fuel trim values.
