Overhead DVD unit makes noises every time I start engine

After doing a recent repair where I disconnected and reconnected the battery, now the DVD entertainment unit goes through about 30 seconds of making noises (like power up, disc eject and so on) every time I start the engine. Does anyone know how I can get it back to the normal (silent) mode?
