Oil Life Remaining Indicator

I recently had the instrument cluster replaced on my 2007 Tahoe because the DIC and gear selector displays were not functioning (apparently a not too uncommon problem with these vehicles and related to a particular mosfit on the circuit board). After installing the remanufactured cluster everything appears to work as expected except that when scrolling through the various readouts, when viewing the oil life remaining, it reads ---% Oil Life Remaining. It does not show an actual number. I have tried holding down the reset (check button) for 10 seconds as you normally would to reset the counter but it has no effect. Anyone know how to get the display to register with an actual number instead of the dashes?
