Tired of the bumper sag. Jack and a 2x4 does the trick….for now. It was only sagging maybe at most half an inch at the end. But enough for guys like us to bother. Maybe went up slightly a little too much but maybe after a few miles it’ll settle down a bit, either way it’s way better. Took all of 5 minutes. Didn’t mess with the passengers side .

Redid the airbag cover to something different than what anyone else has. Fine tip chrome marker for the outline then black paint marker for the inner part.

Swapped out the shifter boot. New boot doesn’t like the nnbs shifter , didn’t have any issues in the Tahoe so I’m not sure what the deal is.

Seen some corrosion on the plate lights . Figure I’d replace them with new housings, they’re cheap anyway. Got bored and plastidipped the dome light housings and wired in the leds from the plate lights. Crazy bright , match the built in led door lights now lol.

Plastidipped the overhead center console. One of the next mods will be a black suede headliner. One of just a few mods I never got around to on the Tahoe. Really wanted to reupholster the headliner in the Tahoe black.

Utilized and recycled the 194 socket from the plate lights to add a marker light to the og klearz clears.

What I didn’t like is that the aftermarket led fog housings only came in black , which I get cause that’s the style. But a chrome option would be nice. So I wrapped the housing cover with chrome. Not super happy how it turned out , chrome wrap is less forgiving than regular wrap with less stretch. But the truck is lowered and the lights are low so nobody will notice the imperfections. They do look way better tho imo.

Tried a couple looks I had in my head using chrome wrap. Wasn’t feeling the large piece wrapped so I mimicked the Escalade shifter and wrapped just the tip , giggity. Poor mama esky shifter. Looks pretty good from afar but up close you notice the orange peel texture from the plastic. I think another layer would hide most of it but for now I’m just leaving it as is to see if I even like the look. I’ve never been a chrome guy even on the interior but once I got the Escalade cluster I knew I had to match it with small details inside the cab .

Grabbed a set of express van hvac knobs to retrofit onto my hvac. Figured the best and easiest way to mod them to fit. Shaved the white indicator part so it’s clear , that way whatever led backlighting there is it will shine through. Even though my backlighting is white anyway the clear version shines much brighter.

Again adding minor chrome details , these also complimented with the double din buttons and knob quite nicely.

Trying different ideas for turn signals. I don’t want typical chrome with glare in every direction. I don’t want blacked out, don’t want strips or individual leds. Using a frosted film I wanted a solid and even glow. This sorta did the trick but as @Thatsquishykid717 pointed out , they look like they’re not sealed and just fogged up lol. So I have a bunch more designs in my head. But just wanted to share to give other ideas. Use your pnp led bulbs and make any design you want. It’s a film so if you want change it later.

Well I never liked anything up there that didn’t belong there. People put switches and lights but I’ll most likely leave as is. I know it’s a pointless cubby but it’s simple and looks oem. Same as when I added a cubby in place of the rear entertainment center in the Tahoe. Just a cubby , that’s it. I’m more focused on a sunroof up there later, I was spoiled when I had one in the Tahoe.

Life in AZ is very different than AK, even vegas and Cali. It’s like another planet here. I’m realizing the constant time and effort of upkeep that needs to be put into your vehicle while living here. Playing a round of golf around 1pm when it’s 98-102 out is fun tho .

Seen a Fb post where a dude added these to his hvac controls and I was immediately sold. The light up circles match my deck volume knob which is also a light up circle. They’re a little bigger but sit nicely on the unit.

That’s it for chrome on the front dash area. Next will be doors starting with Denali handles then go from there. I hate chrome when it comes to the exterior, but on the interior it’s very acceptable.

Been a hot minute. Let’s start back on with some more lighting candy

Alpharex full led headlights , triple projectors with sequential strips. 100% plug n play with zero modifications needed.

I was one of the few who pre ordered these before they were even released. So I waited about two months before they were available and shipped. Of course when they shipped I had just landed in Alaska for a month long stay. The anticipation was killing me lol. More on the Alaska trip later.

Also I wrapped all the chrome in gloss black for now. Sort of a design copied off the new 2023 z71 Silverados
