New Oil Pan gasket leaking?

Yeah 12 inch lbs=1 ft lb so it’s not hard. The specs on my oil pan are 108 in lbs, pretty sure his are around there. But he only had a torque wrench that went down to about 12-15 and he used that, set on its lowest setting so like I stated in my earlier post, that’s 144-180 in lbs or are we missing something?

^^^ This. Know that click-style torque wrenches are most accurate at the higher range of their specs. Not so much on the lower end.

Not that I feel it’s the problem for the leak but the torque for the M8 bolts from the pan to the block is 18 FT LBS. And the 2 long M6 bolts are 106 IN LBS.

Without actually seeing it the leak is either a piece of trash on the pan rail, not enough rtv in the corners or did you make sure the pan was somewhat seated against the bell housing before all the M8 bolts were tightened down?

And I’ve never used RTV on the bolts. Just a drop of blue loctite.
