Just bought my wife an 05 hoe to haul the kids around. We had twin boys 11 months ago so we needed something bigger than a cavalier:mexsmoke: It only had HID's and a magnaflow muffler. In the week we've had it I managed to upgrade to a full center console, bought TWO sets of leather third row seats (dont ask), strikers for the install, and tuned her using EFI Live and tunercats. Overall a nice ride and I'm much happier knowing if mwife hits someone or something they'll be safe in. Thanks for the site!

Welcome, I think you're driving my old tahoe :)!
So it seems.....Nice truck so far as I can tell. I've been working on the tune here and there while I get a few minutes between work and my boys. The wife DEMANDS the magnaflow be removed. I tell here there's zero possibility I take it off for something stock. Thats an ongoing discussion.....Any details on the head lights in case I need replacements? Thanx!

you only had a 4.8 liter???^

Yep just had the little 4.8. I really couldn't tell much of a difference between it and the 5.3. I test drove an '08 Denali today that may end up being the Tahoe's replacement.

Maybe you can swap it out for a quieter magnaflow or a corsa touring exhaust. The headlights were actually purchased from Rollin Thunder on this forum. He can probably chime in with some details about where they came from.

Is there something wrong with them??

If not than you should be good to go for quite along time, HID headlamps last like 10x longer than your standard halogen, If you ever do need a replacement you can just order the 9006 bulbs in 5000k (or 4300k, I forgot which temp they were actually).

but make sure they look like this http://www.amazon.com/9006-6000K-Xenon-Diamond-White/dp/B001GP0C24

and not like a halogen bulb that is painted blue, also im quite happy that the kit lasted that long, IT was actually the first Kit I ever bought and bought it from a vendor on our old forum tahoeforum.com, It was from higher level auto and one of the highest quality kits I have ever used. Good luck!

Yeah, I really dont see myself pulling the muffler for another one anytime soon. I love the way it sounds BUT she wont settle for anything but stock. I told her the next one would be a Borla but I'm having trouble finding a used one. Guess no one ever take those off once they're installed. The only way I'd go back to stock is when an electric cut out and shorties are in front of it!
Lights work great! Just wanted info for the future.

Nice to have so many, so close. My last club was Las Vegas F-Body. My mistress hasnt been driven in a year, about the same time I had the twins. Drives me nuts with her sitting in the garage. She's a major project-96 WS6 Trans AM, Fabbed 9", 6 speed, low compression/forged 355 with an ATI blower. Makes me sick....but I still didnt have to sell her!

Welcome! I'm in Gwinnett. I used to have a 97 WS6...bad ass ride! I miss it. What model magnaflow you got? If you swap out I might be able to buy yours.

Not sure what model as it came on the truck when we bought it. I like it so the fight ensues.
