Never realized this was odd, upper ball joint brackets on an ssv?

A limiting strap at that location would create tension on the tapered stud for the upper ball joint, trying to pull it from the spindle. I hope no suspension designer would do that.

Perhaps a relocation bracket for securing ABS wiring left over from whatever lift they used?

I removed the lift. It was a strut spacer.
