I bought some 6.5 speakers from crutchfield. They came with a bracket for install.

How would you install this speaker? Should I use the bracket and if so, where should I put the screws?

ive never used the speaker brackets unless it was absolutely necessary. oval hole to a round speaker yes. bigger hole to a smaller hole again yes. or in a couple where the speaker needed to be spaced out or something. if the 4 speaker screw tabs are over metal the bracket isnt necessary. as far as where to put the screws its not overly important unless your ocd. figure out how you want the speaker mounted or if you need to do any tricks to get the speaker in the hole. if your using the bracket just make sure everything goes on so its all facing the direction you want. only real thing i can suggest is some 3m adhesive foam/rubber mounting tape. adds some cushion between the 2 pieces of metal and cuts down on potential rattling.

you shouldn't need the brackets the speakers should direct fit, at any rate just drill SMALL starter hole's where needed and screw it in, don't over tighten the screw's the metal is not that strong they will strip easy. snug is good.
