I recently took my 2018 Yukon Denali in to have some items addressed before the bumper to bumper expired. The main items I wanted addressed were, the lack of range on my remotes, vibrations at highway speeds, a rattle on cold start, and the fact that my suspension seemed to be inconsistent, meaning sometimes it was pretty good and other times it was extremely stiff.

I also asked Laura my service advisor to please do any software updates and check to see if my VIN is affected by the brake recall which it was not.

In reference to the vibration issue I asked them to do a road force balance and rotate the tires... what a difference... vibrations completely gone up to 87 mph I didn't go any faster.

The cold start rattle they said was normal... something with the injection system.

As far as the range of the remotes they say the range tested good, I'm still skeptical.

What is interesting is she said they found nothing wrong with the suspension components and that all appears normal. Laura did say that all software updates for the vehicle were completed, now... there was no mention on the receipt and she did not specifically say but the ride is now much smoother and softer for lack of a better term.

At first I thought maybe it was all psychological but after 3 weeks I'm convinced there is a definite ride quality difference. Did they put in the lasted suspension software... Does having the tires road force balanced affect the MRC that much? I'm not sure but it does ride much better in my opinion whatever enhanced it.

Road force balancing makes a huge difference, the machine can tell if tires are out of round, if wheels are bent or out of round, the machine shows the operator where to put the tire on the wheel so the smallest amount of weights can be added.

Hunter Road Force Balancing

What is Road Force Balancing?
Road force balancing refers to the even distribution of mass in a tire and wheel assembly. While tire balancing measures the imbalances, road force balancing detects the up and down motion of the tire. Road force balancing machines help to detect bulges and hard spots normally missed by regular tire balancing machines.
If there is an imbalance in the tire and wheel assembly, the tire will start to wobble as it rotates. This wobbling causes vibrations that will increase with speed. Ignoring the vibrations that come with tire imbalance can cause abnormal tire wear and put strain on suspension system components.
Our experienced professionals use intuitive Hunter equipment to identify the position and amount of imbalance in your passenger or light truck tire and wheel assemblies. The Hunter Road Force Touch® uses a type of road test, applying up to 1,250 pounds of force against the rotating assembly. The Smart Weight® Balancing technology helps to improve tire balance by minimizing weight usage and maximizing productivity.
Within mere minutes, Hunter Road Force Touch® pinpoints the root of the problem:
Wheel imbalance
Wheel run-out
Force variation of the tire
Mounting errors
And other issues
The machine then transmits the necessary corrections to a diagnostic screen so our staff can make precise corrections to ensure your wheels are properly balanced.
Our Hunter Road Force balancing equipment will provide an accurate diagnosis of your vehicle. The Hunter Road Force Touch® is guaranteed to perform a tire balance test faster than a traditional balancing equipment. It solves vibration problems, identifies vehicle pulls, ensures proper centering, and eliminates setup errors in order to provide a new car ride to your vehicle.
Don’t risk the wear and performance of your tires on any other auto balancing technology.
