I can't remember if there was a special thread or if it was a side conversation somewhere but someone has posted a full-length third brake light on eBay and I purchased it. Today it came in and I installed it.

Old vs. New

The install was super smooth and there were no issues. They provide hardware which was unnecessary because the factory hardware works and is better to use. I like how it is not a row of LEDs but is more of a strip light.

A few days ago the MIL light came on while I was driving around. When I scanned the truck it had a P0455-00 gross evap leak code. I checked my new Delco gas cap to make sure it was on right and cleared the code. I didn't even make it 10 miles away and the MIL was back on. My 60 mile round trip cost me a quarter of a tank of gas.

So I decided to change all three major pieces of the evaporative emissions system because they are all original.

These are the part numbers for the pieces.

Not a bad job to do but whoever designs the connectors that go on these pieces should be flogged. Each "quick" connect fitting is different. How unnecessary!

I drove it 30 miles and it hasn't reset like it did last time. My gas mileage seems to be back in check so I am very satisfied.

Now if only I could spend money on fun stuff instead of repairing the Big Black Truck.

Good move. Didn't look up the numbers, but assuming this is the vent valve, purge solenoid, and charcoal canister?

I take that back, that one looks more like a tube LED, while the Eagle Eyes has the individual LEDs which you can see in this shot with the sun hitting it.

I want to find a smoked one, or just lightly tint it. 96584b91b4cd5070cd9ccb3593b83e7e.jpg

Yes, those are all three pieces.

Yes you can't see the individual LEDs in this one. I didn't want that because the side lights are solid and it would not look as cohesive.
