I’m trying to get a feedback on the mrc shocks, seems to be 50/50. Just wanted to know if anyone used them without reliability issues as far as driving
I've seen a few people put these on and like them but also saw some concerning quality issues in some reviews. To my understanding, they are not an actually MRC Shock if that's what you are looking for. I think they are supposed to fool the MRC system and they are just a traditional shock/strut and I've read a few reviews of that not working properly either.
I went OEM on my ‘15 Denali because I very much like the OEM MRC ride and wanted to make sure whatever I replaced my worn out shocks and struts with were going to offer the same ride quality. The only way I knew to do that was to go OEM. I’m personally not a fan of skimping out on parts to save a couple bucks then doing the install and then finding out I need to remove and replace again because my cheap parts weren’t quality and equivalent to OEM.
I found that Rockauto had the best prices. But check around. Plenty of OEM GM parts websites.
I’d agree, if you want to keep the MRC then just swap with OEM which you can do one at a time for the failing components. If you go with something else you really should do all 4.
For us we decided keeping the MRC wasn’t worth it (my wife’s car) and bought the highest quality non MrC ones we could
