Hey guys, I've been searching high & low for the right tail lamps for my truck. Last month I purchased a set of LED tail lamps only to end up disappointed. I expected them to light up completely yet instead they only light up the upper half. The lower half is for the hazard. Don't get me wrong, they don't look bad (see below) but they are not what I expected. I've seen the LED's I'm talking about on the street. They light up full from top to bottom sort of like the Escalade LED's. Anyone know where I can find those? Thanks in advanced.

Not trying to insult your intelligence or mechanical inclination...but I had the same problem as you do when I first installed them. I looked and noticed they had tags on them that said which on went where. I noticed they are backwards from stock. The bottom bulb socket on the stock headlight went to the top of the new LED light. The top (blinker) for the factory one went to the middle of the new one. You will notice there little to no room to make this work. I found that buy cutting back the wire loom some, it provided more than enough room.

The middle light on the LED only offers you to have full bright or none. It is not set up for dual lighting.

The top socket on the LED light is set up to do parking(low light) and Brake (bright). If you have it hooked up wrong, the top will still blink as it has 2 light settings and will use one. The problem will lie in the middle light. The middle on has one setting..just bright because it is meant for the blinker. IF you hook the parking/brake to it, when the parking is on, it will be bright as hell and when you brake it wont change.

This may seem really confusing, and there is a good chance you have it hooked up right. YOur pics show that it has the top light lit up so I assume its done right. If you do have it hooked up right...the parking should still not be as bright as brake.

I like the ones in the link too. Maybe you can exchange or get a refund? If not, you can always throw them on ebay and recoup most of your money.

Thanks for the link. I saw those before I purchased mine. I didn't like them because they only have 3 rows of lights instead of 4. Regardless I may go with these.

I feel you guys. It's just not enough lighting IMO. When I saw they had 4 vertical rows, I thought the two inner rows would stay lit up & the outter rows were brake/hazard/turn signals.

Mine are installed correctly. The brake light is indeed brighter than the standard running lights. However it's the same lights. It's not the lower portion of the tail lamp. The lower portion is reserved for hazard only! It takes the place of the amber hazard section of the OEM housing.

More than likely I will throw them on Craigslist. They have a HUGE market down here in Miami, Fl.

No worries. You have just assured me I did it correctly
I had rechecked the plugs the next day after installation

When I received my pair, it came with some instructions. (Just like you described)

Here are my pics.

As you can see on the last pic, the blinker lights are just as bright as the parking lights. I didn't have someone to press the brake so you could see what I was referencing to. I think they are just as bright as the blinker even though the brake is not being applied...
