4 12" solo classics. I'm getting my pair up and running this week, I'll let you know if it's loud enough.

I'm running one 15" L7 in a 4.0 ported box. It's powered by a r.f power 1000 5 channel ( sub channel puts out over 900 rms at 1ohm), and from what im told, it pounds hard! This is my first system in any of the cars ive owned, so nothing to compare to.

i'm running two kicker l7 solo baric 12's in a l5 enclosure... I've burned up two subs so far and go them both warrantied. I dunno wtf is the deal but least they're warrantied for now. I'm using the same amp the 1500 and it comes pre-wired. Maybe i'm just overworking it :(
SSF on, where is bass boost, gain?

A single ported L7 is plenty loud for me, two 12s will be plenty. Make sure the shop you're at knows what they are doing or it's easy to pop these things. You would be amazed how many people don't know how to setup a simple ported subwoofer system...harmonic distortion coupled with a lack of subsonic filtration can do alot of damage.

i feel ya. I started with 2 myself then when i graduated i put the 3rd in. about 6 months or so later, i went back to get 3 more put in. That was an expensive experience.

A proper enclosure makes all the difference in a ported application. The ported 12" L7 in my friend Tyler's obs tahoe was louder than quite a few multi-driver ported systems in other vehicles. Tuning plays a huge part, dial up an alpine head unit and their imprint sound processing if you really wanna blow the doors off.

i would def go with 2 15" l7. lol. look at my pics of my box and stuff. my box should have been a bit bigger. but it was damn loud with 2000 pushin em. i just put 1 15" l7 in my trans am. pushed by the same 2000 watt amp that was pushin the 2. and its retarded. i dont think ill ever buy a diff sub

Id ask them to do 6-6.5 cubes to 33-35hz when they build the box. Make sure you ask for a big port lol.

I just finished my friends box for his 12'' L7s..... 6.5 cubes (3.25 each) tuned to 33 hz using 4 4'' aeroports. IMHO sealed or big ported boxes tuned to the low 30s are the only way L7s sound remotely good. Sound quality just isn't their thing......

Shit slams by the way. He has 2kw going to them.
