Hey all,

I picked up a Kenwood Dnx5120 double din for a great price... what i have is:

factory bose amps and speakers
Harness from the back of my double din with un-cut wires
KCA-iP300V -- iPod Adapter
KCA-BT200 -- Bluetooth Adapter
SWI-JACK interface for the steering wheel controls.

I was wondering if i needed to buy another harness or not.. I know i will not have OnStar (Don't use) and I will not have door chimes (don't mind)

Here is the picture I was given on purchase:

Thanks in advance for the help!

You will need another harness for your speakers if you plan on using the bose amp to power your speakers.

NExt question !!

On my kenwood DNX5120 i got the GMOS-04 wires as well as the SWI-JACK, everything on the kenwood was working fine. I has just finished programming my steering wheel control with the SWI-JACK and when I went to connect the blue/green wire to the blue/green wire on my kenwood like the instructions said I lost all power to the kenwood.

I'm not real sure how this could of happened.. the only thing I could find from all my searching was to hook up a 12 omh resistor to those wires prior to programming.. but alittle to late for that.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If all power is still lost i would check the fuse on the radio as well as the fuse in the fuse box

I have done this as well.. still no luck. Is it possible that my kenwood harness got fried or something?

Take out the radio and harness and connect the black wire to negative battery terminal and connect both the yellow and red wires to the positive battery terminal, and see if the radio will power on.

I got some short of spark, but it doesn't seem as though I am getting any power to the double din. Tried turning it on and got nothing.

PS: I do appreciate your help!

Yes and when i touched with the negative wire i felt a little shock, but when tried to power on the double din while hooked up to the battery nothing happened.

Did you twist the red and yellow together? If it didn't power on that way something may have fried within the radio.

Try twisting them, although it shouldn't really matter, also make sure that they are making good contact with the battery.

Twisted them, and made sure it was a good connect... and bang! it turned on! thank goodness i was worried I fried something inside the unit itself. So.. what i'm guessing is either my GMOS-04 is bad and needs to be replaced or when wiring i made a bad connection between some wire.

The culprit could be the GMOS-04, so try hooking it up again and see if it works, if not that would be the first thing I would replace.

Okay I am geting ready to buy a new install module for my Kenwood. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been looking at the RP5-GM11, but i've heard the steering wheel controls are delayed.
