My 03 Tahoe rearview mirror temp and compass are acting up. Last few weeks we have had temps above 105/110... and the little square is blank...or shows pixilated...or works for a min, then quits again. When the outside temp dips below 90, it seems to work ok.

Where is the actual temp sensor located? And why does it take out the compass too?

Common issue. It's the solder in the display. Try to resolder or just hit up a jy.

Circuit Board medics would likely fix it for you as well. I think it's like $50 or so. But definitely the circuit board in the mirror itself.

I bought a used mirror off www.lkqonline.com for pretty cheap, $40 or so. My display was flickering and I resoldered the circuit board with no luck so the used mirror did the trick.
