Uhmmm, not that way. This is sort of a “coming out”, or “coming up” party. When I first got the Tahoe, I always didn’t like having to climb up in the back to get stuff.
So I thought I would lower the back and make my life easier. However, after a rear 2” lower/level by springs, the rear sat about 1/2” too low (the rear measured 1-1/2” higher than the front in stock form). So then I lowered the front using front cups, a spacer, and adjustable Bilstein 5100 struts. The front ended up dropping about 7/8”. That was more than the desired 1/2” to 3/4”. But it looked pretty good.
Fast forward, I got tired of whacking my head on the tailgate, the Cooper LTZs 305/50r20 rubbing, and I had removed the third row and package tray to get easier access. I decided to go back up to level with the stock rear springs, stock front springs and stock spring cups and Bilstein 5100s set at 1.2” above stock. Always liked the look of a leveled and tasteful 4wd.
Thanks for reading. Hopefully this will help someone on the fence trying to decide whether to level the front or back? There is no right or wrong answer, just personal taste. Have fun!
