How Do I Test Close the Active Grill Shutter

I had a transmission cooler installed and the mounting bracket they added looks like it might interfere with the closing of the active grill shutters which, being summer, are currently open. How can I test close the shutters without waiting until winter? I assume there is a temperature sensor someplace which I hope has a simple test override of short socket A with socket B. If the mechanic didn't leave enough tolerance I want to take it back sooner than later to have him correct it. Thanks.
