I have a 1995 Yukon 4x4. I love my truck, but I want something newer, nicer, and something that doesn't have 300k miles on it.

I have chosen to purchase a 2006 Yukon Xl Denali 4x4.
I have not purchased it yet, still trying to decide on what year I need to buy.

The reason for the Denali choice is that it has more extras, and small pieces of chrome that will accent my rims.

The reasons I am choosing to upgrade to the Xl rather than the standard Yukon are: More space for my tools, and my speakers. Also, more importantly.. the rear windows are full sized go all the way down without that annoying ass fixed window you find on the trail blazers.

The reason that I am choosing the 2006 model is because it is the newest model that will accept the Silverado front end. I have attached a photo of the front end that I want.

Notice the lights, hood, and grill.. rather than the standard hood, this one dips down and wraps around the grill. I like that allot.

The question is: Is that front end (hood, grill, fenders, and lights) compatible with later models.. 2007 and up?

Also when I am looking to purchase the new parts is it a standard bolt on procedure or will I have to buy aftermarket adapters and or parts to make it work?

I want the newest truck I can get that will accept that front end.

Oh yeah... Can I lift it six inches and still keep my 4x4 capabilities?

Last but not least, gas or diesel? does anyone have the mpg figures?

My only problem is that I heard that Chevrolet uses an aluminum block for it's diesel engines and a ****** transmission.

So what it boils down to overall is maybe using a Turbo Diesel Cummins engine and an Allison transmission, is that even possible... I want the ultimate truck.

First, :welcome:

that front end won't bolt on to a 07+. 06 is the newest.

most people get a yukon and upgrade to the denali front end, not get a denali and swap to a different front end.

Denali isn't 4x4, it's AWD. big difference. all these 06 SUVs are gas unless you spend big money to swap a diesel in to it. It would depend on your needs whether or not you need it.

I don't like the Denali front end at all...

Obviously gas mileage is a big part of the decision, what's the difference between 4x4 and AWD?

I am all about doing a diesel swap, but not in the immediate future, that can come later.

The look, and sound system is first and foremost.

The body lift, and engine can come later.

so.. I'm getting the 2006 Yukon Denali XL?

What year Silverado do I get that particular front end from?
How much am I looking at spending?
Ordering the parts online, my local junk yard is not an option.

Is it a simple bolt on?

Another question.. Do they make heated cloth seats? I like the idea of heated seats, but I don't like leather.

I did research. I want 4x4 not awd. Thank you for letting me know that there is a difference.
If the Denali isn't avail. in 4x4 than you have narrowed my selection to the standard 2006 yukon xl 4x4
