Hi from socal, first Chevy owned, help me pick

Hi everyone I'm about to pick up my first Chevy
I've owned a lot of overlanding vehicle
Montero
Land cruiser
Fj cruiser

This will be my first Chevy to own pretty scared.

But quick facts, I was diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment at the moment, sold my trucks to get some money for some medical bills,


I was planning to get a Nissan Titan crewcab, but my wife wants a SUV .

I found a really nice and clean
.2004 Chevy Tahoe Z71 4x4 150k for $6,000 super clean no records available

Or

2004 Chevy Tahoe Z71 4x4 140k for $7,500, this one has Bilstein brand new AT tires and full service records available, kinda like the burgendy color also, just 2 dents in the rear bumper

What you guys think?

As the Titan is way more money, I need a 4x4 for camping, and for out small pop up trailer that we have, I have a total of 3 kids so we really love the Captain chairs in the rear.

Well just want to say hi and look forward to modify the Tahoe.

Plan to get what ever the biggest tires I can fit on it.

Just want a small lift 2' maybe... And just a reliable truck.

I would go for the one with full service records and run from the one with no service records. I would still have a good independent mechanic put it on the rack to check everything out in case you missed something.

Welcome to the forum! They both look great and probably are great but the one with the service records should get the nod. It has towing mirrors and a push bar too!

How about rust and rot underneath?

Probably not factory but it brings up a good point. If you have them you towed something much bigger than a 12X6 garden or bike trailer. See if you can find out what it was and where they towed and if they added brake controls or another trans cooler. Maybe the records show trans service?

There is a brake controller, he did a trans flush last month along with all the other fliuds also

I'd be inclined to give the nod to the red one but the silver looks mighty fine too! Can $1500 savings make up for any short falls compared with the other?
