Hey all, new to the forum, I’ve been experiencing weird electrical issues with my 03 Yukon SLT 4x4 awd model, so I purchased it a year ago had engine codes are knock sensors, and also a dash message for door/ajar, so first thing I thought was bcm, I obviously changed the knock sensors with harness aswell to clear code , code for both knock sensors persisted after, so I changed both out along with the harness 2 more times after that, both times new parts, my dash message was first only service brake booster then the service suspension came along after, I replaced my bcm 2 times both times bringer programmed, issues still occur , now I’m getting codes for my cats that were never throwing codes for, I replaced both cats and the codes came back, I’d also like to mention that I drive with my snap on scanner to see the data sometimes and intermittently my scanner loses connection… I’m losing my dam mind throwing parts after parts at it, im just so lost this is my 10th tahoe/Yukon I’ve owned these years and know them pretty frequently, this is the first bad encounter and I would love some advice I’m lost, also I have changed the pcm aswell and had that reprogramed at the dealership , I’m the pics below I had checked voltage to both sides of pcm, witch they are different, and also checked voltage to bcm, pleaseee helppp

The fuse panel traces were a common breaking point for the full size GM line. You pull out the upper fuse panel, and check continuity, as well as a visual, on those traces. Its a pretty easy job to do.

So would it be best just to change out that top panel or it’s it fixeable, I’m not to sure what to look for , I appreciate you reaching out, do you think that could be a cause due to symptoms or possibly a wire harnesses thing? I checked my harness pretty thoroughly but it seems good no nicks or issues

If you can see the broken trace, and are REALLY good at soldering, you might be able to fix it. Or you can go the easier route, albeit a bit more expensive, and just buy a new fuse panel from GM.

it will look very similar to this, except new, and not dirty.

Just note, I can not guarantee that this will fix the problem until the circuit is tested and found to be at fault.

Grounds are also another known fault for these trucks. Ground straps, back of the head, below the head, battery to frame, battery to body, and a whole mix of other issues.

Yes, grounds are known weak areas. Climb around that rig and when you see one, take apart and clean and tighten and check for corrosion creep inside insulations.

And dont forget the ground at the frame directly below you drivers side front door just about where the firewall begins! This one can cause all kinds of craziness. Take it apart no matter how good it looks and wire brush the hell out of the frame, terminal lug and the bolt. Doesnt hurt to glob some silicone on it to keep road salt and what not away also!

I would suggest also checking under the fuse box. Stupid mice went under mine and decided wires are yummy. It was nothing but a pain in the butt till i got everything replaced

So Saturday I swapped out my fuse panel, no luck, truck threw a code after 60 miles for my cat driver side witch I replaced 2xs already, and I did notice that my scanner was still disconnecting intermittently every so often and Ofcourse the service suspension and brake booster still illuminated… im ready to light this b**** on fire now, I checked all grounds, and actually cleaned the frame ground under the drive seat aswell, the ground behind the head was super gunked up with oil but no cuts or damage to it, im so lost

Disconnect the battery and remove the connections to the PCM. Inspect both female and male ends for corrosion or moisture. If there's any, clean it up see what that does. Someone else had a problem with corroded PCM connections after driving through puddles. A long shot but might be worth checking. Weird stuff seems to happen in threes around here.
