Got it changed. I ended up cutting the filter with a Dewalt sawzall....not too difficult once me and the sawzall were under there. Strange thing.....black nastiness came out of the filter when I dumped it out, but when I blew thru the old filter there was virtually no resistance from the filter being plugged. Everyone else get the black fuel coming out even though the filter was not plugged?

I did not use the white plastic clip that came with the replacement filter. The spring clip in the hose end holds the filter in place. While the outlet fitting on the replacement filter is longer than the old filter I took out, it STILL appears to be too short to get the standard fuel & A/C line release ring tools in there. Probably won't have to worrry about it next time around since I'll be moved on from this Tahoe. Thanks for the help in this thread.

Am I missing something, or is cutting the fuel filter with an electric saw blade a really bad idea? Even if you pull the fuse, and crank it, there is still going to be fuel in the filter and vapor right? Couldn't doing this ignite?
