Ha! I work for a big Orthopedic group. You use the same terminology I use to describe to my patients their injuries. I appreciate all of your input & answers here. This forum is WAY more mature & helpful than the Silverado guys. Hell, some of their posts to members, the members wouldn’t even know they were being played a joke on & possibly hurt themselves. This forum is awesome! Love you guys already!From the image posted? I can see evidence of a stress fracture on that Tie rod.
Notice it is NOT a clean break? It's all jagged.
You get a small fracture line from many different reasons and stuff goes south from there.
I also don't see any signs that the tie rod bent in any way.
I would expect signs of bending if other parts had failed.
