not sure how many of you know of this place but i just ordered some huge 2/0 for my big 3 and the cable/wire was so much cheaper than places locally.

locally they sell 0guage kicker hyperflex close to $5 a foot and stinger,monster,tsunami, jl and a bunch of oem branded wire goes from $2.95 to $3.75 per foot.

well i just got 2/0 for $2.88 a foot. i considered 3/0 at $3.49 a foot but 2/0 is more than enough

says who. with 0 connected upfront running 3 runs to the back of my truck using a dmm i was getting 13.6 up to 14 depending on the weather. when its 68 in the morning id get 14 but the afternoon hitting 90 it was 13.6

with 2 runs on 2/0(welding) i'm seeing 14.6 at all times
so it seems like more current to me.
a friend is machining me my buss bars right now for an extra run or maybe 2 since im about to put a 2nd alt in.
got to test my amp and i went from 14.6 to 13.2 quick im sure the 2nd alt and 2 shuriken BT120s in the back will keep the voltage up. all i have in the truck right now is a yellowtop up front and thats about to be a secondary battery up front with a shuriken g34 series battery as the main battery.

gotta finnish my doors off tonight. took the seleniums out the front already. just gotta take them out the back and put my powerbass 4xl65 mids in. they sound so much better than the seleniums and louder at the same volume. both were powered with the same crescendo 1000/4
gotta get the wife from work, no more typing for now...

it works, but is not as good as car audio wire. The guys that actually mass produce wire, you know, the car audio electronic manufactures. Most all 12v manufactures will agree.

Dont get upset, if your happy using it, that's fine. But it is not as good ( flexible, longer term usage, corrosion ) as car audio wire.

no one's getting upset at all... just stating my finding. if im getting full voltage from 2 runs but 3 runs of 0 didnt produce the same amount of voltage i'll stick with the welding wire.
but this stuff is just as flexible as my knukonceptz Kolossus Fleks Kable. im gonna run the knu wire from my dist block to my amps... i loved it cuz it didnt cost a lot and is 100% copper wire

Yeah and thats your opinion and you are entitled to it. BUT just because you say it we have to obey it? Where is the proof? I ran welding cable for my last competition system and it has higher strand count and is just as flexible as any wire size over 2ga can be. I also had less voltage drop on long runs. The jacket on the cable I used was rated for underground use and was tougher than the brand name cable my buddy sells at his car audio store! I had to bore out all my connectors and dist blocks to use the stuff. If I was using 2/0 it wouldn't fit in 2/0 rated connectors because of the high strand count and fine strands. Since we all know electricity flows on the outside of the strand, the more surface area=the more electricity carried. Pretty simple!! What kind of corrosion tests did you perform to come to your conclusion the welding cable isnt as corrosion resistant? What was the ASTM test method employed? Well that's just my 2 cents. So much misinformation spewed on here!

Kind of weird way you worded it. AC runs on the outside of wire like in homes, the wire is solid with no strands, DC runs through the wire so the more strands the better.
